good materials
A tungsten carbide bur consists of a good-quality tungsten carbide head and a stainless steel shank.
Tungsten carbide is a metal that is extremely hard (about three times stiffer than steel) and can withstand high temperatures. Because of the hardness, a carbide bur can maintain a sharp cutting edge and be used many times without becoming dull.

Different Shapes are Available
two shank types in dental clinic
(1) FG Tungsten Carbide Burs
FG standard is 19mm in length with a 1.60mm diameter shank and fits in high speed handpieces; FG short length is 16.5mm; FG long length is 25mm.
(2) RA Tungsten Carbide Burs
RA standard is 22mm in length with a 2.35mm diameter shank and fits in low speed handpieces; RA long length is 26mm.

benefits of tungsten carbide burs
1. Perfect for excavating cavities, shaping bone, removing impacted teeth, and many other procedures.
2. Tungsten carbide burs are 3 times stiffer than steel. Because Tungsten Carbide is such a hard material, it is able to maintain sharpness, making it a highly effective cutting tool.
3. Tungsten carbide burs cut and chip away the tooth structure rather than grinding as diamond burs do, this leaves a much smoother finish.
4. Due to tungsten carbide burs using blades they are able to reduce vibrations (“chatter”) and in turn discomfort for patients.
5. Tungsten carbide burs are more resistant to high temperatures than other materials, allowing them to operate for longer periods.
6. These burs can also be used on a wide variety of materials, such as gold, silver and acrylics. In addition, they last a long time without chipping or breaking.

What are differences between carbide burs FG, RA and HP?
There are three main types of shank - Friction Grip Shank (FG), Latch-type Shank. (RA) and Long Straight Shank (HP).
FG (Friction Grip)
FG burs fit into the turbine of high speed handpieces. The shank diameter is 1.60 mm. The standard length is 20mm long, but longer surgical lengths are available and these are commonly needed for veterinary work.
RA/CA (Right Angle)
RA burs fit into the latch of the contra-angle on slow speed handpieces. They are generally 20mm long with a 2.35mm diameter shank.
HP (Long Straight)
HP burs fit into the nose cone of the slow speed handpieces once the prophy angle or contra angle is removed. They are used for diamond cutting discs or long 40mm burs with a 2.35mm diameter shank.

What are differences between diamond burs and carbide burs? How to choose them?
Carbide burs, which are composed of tungsten carbide, are excellent for cutting.
Thus, diamond bur grinding is superior to carbide bur cutting. With diamond burs, there is also a reduced risk of damaging the inner pulp area of the tooth.
(2) Durability: Both diamond and carbide are exceptionally durable substances. However, diamond burs lose cutting effectiveness more dramatically than carbide burs over time, resulting in a shorter lifespan.
(3) Usages: Both Tungsten carbide burs and diamond burs can be utilized for deburring, finishing, smoothing, and shaping. But Tungsten carbide burs are more resistant to high temperatures than other materials, allowing them to operate for longer periods.
Diamond burs are more useful for carving into stone as compared to tungsten carbide burs, so the main choice selection of material is dependent on the application.
(4) Smoothness: Carbide burs cut and chip away the tooth structure, as opposed to grinding it like diamond burs do, resulting in a far smoother finish than diamond burs.
(5) Zirconia cutting burs: Cutting and removing zirconia crowns can be rather difficult. Diamond burs are more suitable for the task than carbide burs due to their high-speed grind. The same remains good for ceramic crown fabrication.
Overall tungsten carbide burs and diamond burs are functionally different. Tungsten carbide bur are ideally suited to cutting work such as preparing cavities, cutting through metal fillings, and shaping bone during dental implant surgery.
Diamond burs are used to grind the tooth down and leaving it with a rough surface that requires polishing later on with a separate tool.
What are differences between tungsten carbide burs and trimming finishing burs?
Trimming finishing burs have more blades (8-12 blades) than operative burs, and the blades are closer together and shallower, which makes these burs ideal for the fine finishing and polishing of dental materials.
What are differences between plain cut and cross cut tungsten carbide burs?
Cross cut burs have additional cuts across the blades to create increased cutting efficiency. Cross cut burs can generally cut more quickly because debris does not build up on the bur.
What’s the packing? How many pcs in a pack?
